wellness wednesdays: moving into fall

Hi there! I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend and are enjoying the week. We are still in the middle of a heatwave out here in LA so it’s green juices, water, and cold soups ;) I am typing this from my bed as the bedroom is the coolest room in the house. Very grateful for this old window ac unit!

While I am still sweating it out down here I know some of us are moving into the fall season. The fall equinox is just a few short weeks away so I wanted to post my favorite health tips for transitioning into this next season.

1. Stay with your routines. This is key. In order to stay grounded in this transitional time, stick with your self-care and exercise practices. Don’t let them fall by the wayside!

2. Eat seasonally. Summer is all about juices and cooler foods. As we move into fall reach for squash, dark greens, apples, and cooked legumes.

3. Exercise your brain. Read a new book. Sign up for an art class. Tackle a word puzzle. Watch less TV. Staying in shape mentally is crucial for overall health and wellbeing.

4. Deepen your relationships. Fall is a time of gathering with family and friends. Connect to your community and expand your relationships.

5. Get plenty of rest. I know some folks that are already preparing for the busy holiday season just a couple of months away. Build plenty of rest into your schedule so that you will be fresh and ready for all of the holiday time demands.

Have a great evening and see you all back here Friday for a delicious new recipe!
